If you have ever been to Miami Beach, you know that it is the Art Deco lovers paradise. Brussels, where I live, is well known for its Art Deco Architecture (and Art Nouveau but that’s another chapter altogether), however although the Art Deco architecture found here is beautiful it lacks the vibrant colors of the Miami buildings. I recently stumbled upon pictures of the Soho Beach House in Miami. It is a private club members hotel, spa and restaurant that opened in 2011 and was designed by the London based interior designer Martin Brudnizki.
I loved the fact that the spirit of the era was kept: the Art Deco reminiscent colors and patterns used for the bedrooms, the beautiful light fixtures, the original 30’s vintage furniture sourced from antique dealers , the wonderful encaustic tiles used for the floors and the bathrooms or the weathered leather club chairs. Wouldn’t you love to stay there, to be pampered in the spa, or to enjoy dinner at their restaurant?
I couldn’t pass the opportunity to show you those wonderful retro illustrations I found while searching for images, done for the hotel by Jonas Bergstrand.
Have a lovely weekend!
