Although I still love the Swedish giant, I am not a big IKEA shopper anymore except for accessories and frames. Furnishing my home with the same furniture as everyone else was something I did when I didn’t have a big budget and hadn’t found out about the endless possibilities of antique and vintage furniture. Yet I have to say that the new Stockholm collection that was launched in April offers some truly great pieces which could lead me to a change of mind. The Stockholm collection is somewhat the high end selection at IKEA with higher quality materials.
The Stockholm collection goes in two different directions: the first is colorful and fun with yellow and emerald green (yeahhh) and the second is more contemporary mixing shades of brown, camel and grey. I love the velvet covered upholstery, the stripped wool or bold patterned rugs, the tan leather and the oak paneled furniture. My favorite piece is without a doubt this fantastic swivel chair shown below in yellow, green and tan velvet. The yellow glass cabinet seconds the swivel chair and is beautifully styled in this picture.
Which ones are your favorites pieces? Rather bold and colorful or safe and timeless? Have a lovely day.
